Say What You Mean

Shane and I took these photos on Monday, when the weather was still amazingly sunny and warm. It's strange going out to take photos at 4/5pm and the sun still whiting me out so we had to adjust where we took the pictures, thoiugh I actually like the way these ones turned out! It's taking a while to get used to the longer nights haha! We basically had a pointless day at college today, but Phily wanted to go to some charity shops so I tagged along and I actually bought an amazing pair of old navy loafers with a tiny little heel which were so lovely and soft! And for only £4.50! I can't wait to style them up!

I got this skirt the other day from Urban Outfitters, and I am in love, though I just wish it was a little longer! I decided to just style it quite simply with a plain grey tee and navy cardigan. Well, the weather outlook is supposed to be quite rubbish for the rest of the week (its raining right now) so I doubt I'll be able to get any pictures for a post on friday, unless I just fill in with something else haha! We'll see! Have a good week!

Let The Sun Rain Down On Me

I am in love with this dress! I've been swooning over it on the topshop website for a while now, and then the other day someone from my class wore it to college, which just increased my love for it! I was sitting there thinking of all of the possibilities of how I could style it up, so me and Phily took our quick dash off to topshop to buy it hehe - although I won't wear it to college :(. I really wanted to take these pictures in a pretty field full of some daffodils or tulips of some sort to sort of match the dress.

In mine and Shane's haste to get out and take the pictures before it got too dark, I grabbed this cardigan, which I think looks nice with the dress, but I would have prefered my (fake) denim shirt I think. I might have to try that next time! :) Also, the clocks went forward yesterday which means we get more time to take photos at night, so hopefully there will be a lot more posts around here! Well thats if I can find enough clothes to wear hehe! Have a good week!

Photo Diary: Week 3

Wow look at me - 2 posts in 2 days! And another one coming up tomorrow! Well this week has been a really good week! I finished all of my assignments (although I've got more being handed out soon probably) so I just got to spend my time how I liked. I really need to get used to taking pictures throughout the week rather than just taking loads on one day of the most random things haha! Hope everyone had a good weekend! Enjoy! :)

March Recap

I never really know what to say on these posts haha, so I'm probably just going to end up babbling on about nothing hehe! I can't believe it's already the end of March! I'm seriously looking forward so much to the summer. I can't wait for the longer days, the warm weather and all of the trips that Shane and I can take together :).

I've actually been really terrible this month and bought quite a few things! Me and Phily took an amazingly quick trip to topshop yesterday during our lunch break and I got a new dress, necklace and amazing ring, which will be in an outfit post on monday. I also found a lovely vintage playsuit from the kissing tree vintage which I can't wait to style up!

I'm also really happy my friend Phily found out about my blog haha! I was so nervous when she found me on twitter, but she's been really supportive of it and even started her own blog! Also, I don't know if any of you remember, but back in August I did this post where I decided that I was going to make a patchwork quilt. Well I never actually got round to making it (although I did sew a few rows together), but I've decided to try and carry on with it! If anyone has any tips, please share :).

I'd just like to say hi and thanks to all my new (and old) followers! I never say it enough, but thank you so much! It always brightens my days reading everyones lovely comments! Now for a recap of my favourite outfits of the month, which all seem to be blue haha!

The Wicksteed Railway

Yesterday since the weather was so nice and amazingly warm (I had to put the air-con on, on the way home from college!) my friend Phily and I headed across the road to Wicksteed Park to play on the swings and take some outfit pictures. We found the train just left sitting there on the tracks so we kinda snuck around and took some pictures hehe! After we just took a walk around the park enjoying the sunshine. Sorry if the post is a little photo heavy, but there was just so many nice pictures.

I decided to wear this dress as a skirt since it's way to short for me! After I washed it the first time, it's never been the same and I love it too much to not be able to wear it, so I decided to try it as a skirt and I think I actually prefer it like this. You can see some more pictures on Phily's blog :). Well I'll be back on saturday with my monthly recap! Have a great weekend!

Hello, Spring

I honestly can't believe how nice the weather has been the past couple days! It's been warm and sunny and the rest of the week's outlook is supposed to be the same! I'm really looking forward to dressing in the warmer weather with pretty coloured floral dresses and my new wedges hehe! Seriously, I think you might get sick of the sight of them soon - they're just so comfy!

I realised I barely ever wear this dress, I don't know if thats because it's so crazily creased after it's washed (I don't iron, I'm too lazy haha) or just because of the weird colour/material, but I realised the other day that I really like it! It's the perfect length to wear without having to hold it down whilst walking and the material is so soft! Have a good week!

Recipe: Piri Piri Chicken

Shane and I love this recipe! The flavours are just amazing, especially served with the sweet potato wedges. Instead of making them into roasted wedges, you can also put them in the microwave with some cling film on for 10 minutes with a dash of lemon juice and a splash of water and slightly mash them when cooked through, adding the feta cheese and coriander leaves at the end just before serving.

Ingredients:
1/2 red onion
2 cloves garlic
2 red chillies
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon worcester sauce
juice of 1/2 lemon
around 50ml cold water
4 chicken thighs
yellow and red peppers
feta cheese
coriander leaves
2-3 sweet potatoes

Method:
1. Roughly chop the onion, garlic and chillies and add to a liquidiser, with the white wine vingear, worcester sauce and lemon juice. Blend until there are no bits.
2. Slice into the underside of the chicken thighs but make sure not to cut any of the meat off. Season with salt & pepper and pour half of the piri piri marinade over the chicken and mix. Leave in the fridge for 30mins to an hour.
3. Heat a large griddle pan on high heat then add the chicken skin side down and leave to cook for around 10 minutes. Turn over and cook the other side for 10 minutes. Heat the oven to 200C.
4. Cut the peppers into large sections and add to the pan with the chicken and cook for around 5 minutes turning the chicken if needed.
5. Cut the sweet potato into small wedges and place on an oven tray and season with salt and pepper (I like to make a little marinade for the wedges using a little paprika, cayenne, cumin, tumeric, thyme and ground coriander) then mix with a little olive oil and place in the oven for around 20 mins or until soft.
6. Pour the rest of the marinade into a large ovenproof dish then add the chicken and peppers. Put in the oven and cook for around 10-15 mins.
7. Serve the chicken and wedges with the peppers then sprinkle some feta and coriander leaves over the wedges. Enjoy! :)

Orange

Please excuse the state of me and the quality of these pictures hehe! Shane and I have been planning on going for a bike ride all week and taking some pictures, but the weather has been terrible! Today though, we had the most amazing misty glow so off we went to Rutland Water for a little bike ride (hence the really messy hair hehe)! We really need to learn how to actually use the camera for shooting in darker conditions, since it was starting to get dark by the time we got home, so they came out kinda rubbish and blurred.

I got these shoes today, arent they amazing? I don't know why but I've been having this shoe fettish the past month or so and I seriously cannot stop buying shoes! I'm not really big on heels either, but since these are platforms I'm hoping that's going to make it a bit easier to actually walk and not look like I'm drunk hehe! I've also had a little blog redecoration again! But I really think I'm going to settle with this one for now! :) I'll be back tomorrow with a recipe! :)
