Peter Pan

We actually took these photos last week after the photos from the last post since the weather was so nice! I'd planned my cardigan, but by the time we walked down there, I was way too hot and had to take it off! I just love the feeling of the weather warming up for spring and summer and seeing new buds on the trees, as much as I love winter, I'm just so excited for spring and all the adventures we can go on!

I bought this dress from H&M last week, which was my most expensive item at £29.99. I wouldn't really recommend it though. The material is fine and it's a really nice shape and fit but the buttons could have been placed either more closer together or a bit further up since the whole time I had a gaping whole at my stomach and at my bust, and I mean it's not tight fitting on me or anything so there's no reason they should be doing that. I'm kind of dissapointed as I love this dress! I'll just have to remember to wear a top under it next time.

February Recap

So this is my second monthly recap. I don't really have much to talk about this month though haha! I was planning on taking pictures throughout the month and putting them together in the post, but I only really took pictures of my cat haha! I'll try again next month and hopefully I'll actually get some pictures of what I get up to.

I've made some changes on my blog and I've added a frequently asked questions page, so if anyone has any questions they'd like to ask, I'll answer them in a post maybe then add them to the page? What do you guys think?

I also had a massive unintended shopping spree in H&M last week so I thought I would show my purchases. I've got an outfit post coming up next week with the cream dress, and hopefully I'll style up the other stuff soon!
(All from H&M apart from both shoes and brown cardigan)

And of course, some of my favourite outfits of the month! I noticed I'm going for loads of blues and greens lately in both my own and other people's outfits. Hope everyone's having a good weekend! :)

What The Hell

Is it just me, or does anyone else find Avril Lavigne's new song really catchy? I've been playing it over and over for the past week or so haha! I felt really inspired by Tieka's rockish (is that even a word?) outfits with her denim shorts so when I found these in H&M the other day for only £20 I just had to buy them! I'm kinda wishing I bought them a size up though.

I also grabbed these boots on my shopping spree for only £18. I'd had my eye on them for a while but wasn't sure about the heels, since I'm not really a heel person. I like my flats too much haha! But I just decided to go for them, plus I've been having this weird shoe fettish the past couple weeks, buying so many shoes and boots (all with heels) that I'll probably never wear!

I've been wanting to take pictures here for a while, but only just got the chance to go, and I really have to say this was the most awkward hilarious photoshoot ever! It's right opposite a builders store and when we got there, there was a guy outside smoking. When he saw that I was standing there posing for Shane and taking pictures he called his friend over and they just stood watching and whistling at me! Not only that but there were so many builders driving past in their vans staring at us! I don't think I'll be half as embarresed now when people walking their dogs walk past me after this experience hehe!

Manor Drive

This is what I wore to my last uni interview. I know it was like a month ago, but I've only just gotten round to actually taking photos of it! I really like the print on the skirt, it's a shame you can't see it very well but it's little purple flowers, but they didn't actually have it in my size so this one is a bit too big for me haha! I love it so much though so I'm ok with that!

I think I need to ban myself from shopping next month! I spent £70 in H&M last week, but decided to return some things and spent another £50 today (with £25 taken off from the returns!). I guess I'm just getting excited for spring since most of the stuff I've bought is quite springy! I also eventually found a lovely cream dress that I've been on the search for, although it's not completely lacy, it has a bit on it so I'm happy! And I got some lace up heeled boots from Dorothy Perkins which were in the sale for £20! :)

I've also re-designed the blog again! I wasn't really happy with the colour scheme that I had going on before, but I think I'm definately going to stick with this one haha! We'll see how long it lasts anyway!

Recipe: Homemade Chicken Burgers

Since I love cooking and coming up with new recipes, I decided that I would turn my casual recipes into a feature! I'm planning on doing this every other friday with one 'meal' a month and one 'dessert/treat' a month for variation. We'll see how it goes and depending on if everyone likes it then I might change it a bit. What do you guys think? If you have any recipes that you'd like me to try or share with everyone then let me know! I'd love to try new things! :)

So I came up with this recipe a few months ago when Shane and I were craving chicken burgers but thought McDonalds would be a bit too unhealthy. Basically I just grabbed a load of spices from our cupboards and came up with this! It is seriously one of our favourite meals, and even my brother thinks it's amazing (which is something, since he lives off scrambled egg on toast and chicken chow mein haha!) And it's so quick and easy to make!

Ingredients: (Makes 4 burgers)
  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon tumeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon chilli (depending on how spicy you like it)
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 small onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 burger rolls
 Method:
  1. Slice the chicken breasts in half so you end up with 4 thin chicken slices (so they're the same size and shape as before, just thinner).
  2. Mix all the spices, soy sauce, sesame oil, finely chopped onion and crushed garlic in a large bowl with a splash of water just to loosen.
  3. Add the chicken to the marinade and stir, then leave in the fridge for around 20 mins (you can leave it longer or just cook them straight away if that works best for you)
  4. Add the chicken to a hot griddle pan then turn the heat down to a medium heat and cook for 5 mins. Turn them over and repeat until cooked through (they usually take us around 15 mins to cook through just to be on the safe side)
  5. Serve in the buns when cooked. (We like to put salad and mayonnaise in our buns and serve with chips)
Obviously, you don't have to use all of the spices in the marinade, just use what you can or like! Hope you enjoy the recipe! Have a good weekend! :)

Colourful

I had the perfect valentines day yesterday! We basically just spent the day how we usually would since we see each other pretty much all the time except when in classes, then for dinner he cooked me a lovely 3 course meal! We had prawn coctail (and pate on toast, I couldnt make up my mind what one I wanted hah) then we had steak and chips! I'm so fussy when it comes to food and usually end up trying to take over, but Shane insisted that I leave him to cook it, and I'm so glad he did because it was so yummy! We were supposed to have eton mess for dessert but there was no cream so we ended up just having a yogurt instead haha! How was everyone else's valentines day?

My tripod arrived yesterday! For those that don't know, I ordered a tripod last week after reading Delightfully Tacky's post on taking your own photos on the INDIE Conference! Since Shane and I only have the one day together we only usually end up getting one outfit post a week, so now I can go out when he's at college on a monday! I'm so nervous about using it though, I'm going to look so weird running up and down infront of my camera and posing haha! Does anyone else have any tips for taking pictures with a tripod in public (I don't have a remote for my camera!). Any tips would seriously be appreciated haha!

If you haven't noticed, none of this is actually from my 15 for 15 choices! I decided to stop doing it since my heart wasn't really in it and I felt as though I was forcing myself to do it, which is not a good thing. I really wish I was able to stick it out and enjoy it but I guess I'm just not ready for that yet haha!

Valentines Inspiration

Since it's valentines day on Monday, I thought it would be the perfect idea to post some lovely inspiring valentines pictures! Valentines is one of my favourite times of year, apart from my birthday/christmas time of course haha! Shane's bought me the most amazing present ever! 3kg of jelly cherries! I absolutely love cherry flavoured gummy sweets so it's like the most perfect present ever! I'll try not to eat them all at once haha!

Something Different

I decided to try something new today! I'm not usually one to experiment with clothes and usually just play it safe, but I decided to try layering a top over my playsuit. I know thats proabably nothing to most people, but I'm not usually one for being adventurous with clothes haha! As soon as I put the top over, I liked the effect and asked Shane what he thought - "It looks stupid" was his reply haha! Usually I'd have taken the top off but something told me to just try it out. Mum came home so I asked her and she said it looked fine so off we went to take the pictures.

I absolutely love this location, but its right behind my old school and loads of people go walking their dogs down here, particularly around 4 when we decided to go take the pictures. I'm getting much more confident at posing infront of strangers - Shane's the one that gets all embarressed haha! The weather lately has been so nice and warm. I can't wait for spring! :)

I was looking foreward to tomorrow. Shane and I were going to go on a little adventure and take some outfit pictures for next week, but I've ended up somehow getting conjunctivitis again! My left eye is killing right now, but thank god it hasn't got to the point of constant watering! I'm hoping it doesn't get too bad since I have work at the weekend! :/ Have a good week everyone! :)
