London

Shane and I had a great trip to London on Thursday. I know I said I was going to post the pictures that night/friday, but I just never really got the chance till tonight. We took the train down there then got the underground to the house's of Parliament. I loveee the underground haha! I could literally just stay there all day long hopping from train to train haha! I'm just weird like that. I was hoping to get some outfit pictures in the underground but every stop we went to it was just crazy busy so had to leave it.
Whilst we were there, there was this guy that was dressed up just standing there still till someone gave him some money, then he would do a little guesture then move. To be honest I didn't even notice him, Shane had to point him out to me. He was amazing - I would never have the patience to stand and do that all day.
After that we went back on the underground to the Natural History Museum which I was sooo excited about visiting. I was expecting it to be like Night at the Museum (I love that film) but then we got there and it was horrendously busy that we literally spent like 40 minutes in there trying to find a way out haha! Pretty much the whole of what we saw was just rocks and crystals, I was so dissapointed so we left and found our way to Chinatown.
I love chinatown. Literally every other building is a restaurant and if it's not a restaurant it's a supermarket. We must have spent about £20 on buying loads of chinese sweets and dumpling things that I recognised from my holiday to Australia a couple years back, but it only tells you everything in chinese, so we have no idea if we're supposed to cook the stuff or not hah! :/
Since I never got the chance to take any outfit pictures, I might venture out with my bro's tripod tomorrow whilst Shane's at college and attempt to take some pictures of what I wore to London. We'll see. Hope everyone's having a good weekend so far. I'm off to watch the X Factor :).

Nine In The Afternoon

I'm Back!!! I have an outfit post after 2 weeks haha. I'm so happy to be back blogging again :). The past week has just been so busy and (if you haven't read my last post) my laptop broke so I had to get a new one and set it up along with doing 2 assignments that were due in on Friday. But this week is half term now so Shane and I have the entire week off together (even if it is nearly over haha) so we just chilled the past two days.
I actually went shopping yesterday to buy a coat and a birthday present for my dad but ended up getting this sweater too. It pretty much goes with anything so I thought what the heck and added it to my shopping along with a dress which I'll be posting tomorrow/friday.
After all the freezing cold weather we've been having lately I was so happy to actually have a coat (which is something I pretty much haven't owned since I was like 10?) and couldn't wait to wear it in the cold weather, but today it decided to heat up again - not that I don't want heat because I definately do, but after the excitement of buying myself a coat it's kinda disheartening ha! The weather was just the perfect temperature for a sweater and tights. I love this sweater - I'm not usually a fan of sweaters but this one is so thin and soft it's so cosy :).

Sweater: H&M || Dress: ModCloth || Tights: George of ASDA || Shoes: River Island || Necklaces: Accessorize

So Shane and I went to East Carlton Country Park today to take these pictures. I actually had it all set out where I was going to take the pictures and tell a little story about the house, but to be honest, the pictures looked crap so we went for a wander and found this hut cabin thing instead. I love it :).
I was actually terrified when we first went up to the cabin - I always think of the worst possible situation and there were these hooks hanging from the roof and it totally freaked me out. After Shane had a little wander around it I was fine haha.
I'm so excited about tomorrow! Shane and I are going down to London for the day. I think the plan is to go to the Natural History Museum (haha I'm such a geek when it comes to things like that) and then Chinatown. I've never been to a Chinatown before so I have no idea what to expect? Has anyone been to one before, especially the London one? Hopefully I'll have a post up either tomorrow night or friday with our trip/outfit pictures.

Fancy A Bite - Squash/Pumpkin Soup

Sorry I've been such a bad blogger lately! I haven't done an outfit post in 2 weeks and it's really annoying me - I really want to do one, but I've had so much on lately. Assignments, my laptop broke so I had to find a new one, then spent literally a day or two setting it all up. It's half term now though so we've got the week, andddd I just went shopping this morning and bought a couple things :).

So since it's nearly halloween, I decided to buy some mini pumpkins/squash and make a soup. Squash soup is one of my favourite soups ever, so what a perfect time to make it :).

Basically use any pumpkins or squash you like (I usually use butternut squash) and you can mix them too. I just chose a variety from the shop today to try some new ones but I was quite dissapointed because it just tasted exactly the same haha!

Ingredients:
300-500g of any kind of squash
Olive oil
2 medium onions
2/3 cloves of garlic depending on taste
chicken/vegetable stock cube
1 ltr of water

1. Skin the squash and roughly slice into cubes.
2. Add the onion, garlic and squash to a large saucepan and cook for around 5-10 minutes in some olive oil.
3. Add the stock cube and water (basically just over enough to cover the squash) and leave to simmer for 25 minutes.
4. Place the soup in a liquifier(?) until smooth.
5. Serve and add any toppings of your choice (I added cream and some chopped parsley).

Just a side note - if you use dried herbs, try avoid opening containers with your mouth - they will cut your tongue haha! :(

Our Saturday Night's

I feel so weird not doing a post in so long (even if it only has been since Tuesday - I guess blogging is addictive haha!) so after being bored I decided to take some random pictures on my webcam. A usual Saturday for Shane and I is basically, get up, go to work, get a chinese and watch the X Factor. Oh I do love the X Factor - if there's any UK readers, who's your favourite so far?

Sorry if this post is a little boring, but I just thought it would be fun to post some random pictures of us :)
I really don't know what was going on with Shane in the picture with the Ben & Jerry's but just found it hilarious so had to add it haha! Sorry Shane :p

Hope everyone's had a good weekend so far  :)

Tuesday

I love having Tuesday's off with Shane. Everyone must seriously be so sick of hearing me say this but it's so great to just have a day together. Today, Shane and I decided to go to Wicksteed Park, which is a mini theme park for kids. They have a little train that takes you on a circuit around the park so we just took a little walk around it then went to Frankie & Bennie's for some delicious lunch.
This whole outfit pretty much sums up my shopping from London yesterday haha! Since the ques for the fitting rooms were so busy I decided to just buy the clothes then return them to my local stores if they didn't fit - which was the polka dot dress from H&M and the black tunic/dress from Topshop.
I've been dying for a khaki cardigan for ages but could never find one, so I saw this one yesterday and just took my shopping from there, basically buying a whole outfit. The skirt that I wanted was out of stock in my size, so I ended up just finding this lace one instead. I was really unsure about it being a bodycon skirt since my hips and bum are sooo big, but just went ahead and bought it anyway. What do you think about it? I'm still quite unsure.

Cardigan: H&M || Top: H&M || Skirt: H&M || Tights: Next || Shoes: Minnetonka

I absolutely adore my new shoes! Never have I forked out £60 before on any pair of shoes, maybe any item of clothing, but I'm so glad I did for these. I must admit though they are quite fragile, since whilst we were out walking along the train track, a stone cut the edge of my shoe on the foamy bottom! It's nothing serious but after only two wears I was quite distraught haha!

London

So today (ok, technically yesterday now), Dad and I took a trip down to London to visit one of our Au-Pair's and her family that came over from Spain for the weekend. Whilst Dad took the guys to Silverstone Racecourse to take part in an experience day, we (the girls) went shopping and kinda sightseeing. My plan was to actually do one of those picture every hour things, but that never happened so here's what was started of it haha!
We decided to go visit Buckingham Palace for a while before making our way over to Oxford Street to do some shopping. I have hardly ever been to London before apart from school trips, and I actually did quite well getting around on the underground myself (or so I like to think) till we couldn't find our way out of the underground haha! We were going from one train line to the next, and it was roasting down there! After we finally managed to find our way out we had a little picnic at Green Park before making our way down to the palace.
Just as we were heading to oxford street, one of the Queen's Guards walked by and I just managed to get a shot of the back of him haha! It's better than nothing though right? I actually didn't know that the London Eye was so close to Buckingham Palace but you could see it from the gates.
The weather was amazingly nice for an autumn day. It must have been around 17/18C in London and it was so sunny. I think the weather's supposed to be quite nice for the rest of the week (here's hoping). Oh, my Minnetonka moccasin's arrived on Wednesday!!! I hadn't had the chance to wear them properly till today and oh, my, gosh - they are the most softest, comfiest shoes ever! I usually have to wear shoes in for around 1 or 2 months before they get to a bearable level of comfort so I really risked it wearing these today and I actually managed to walk around London all day in them. I would definately recommend anyone to buy them - I think I'm going to be living in them for the next couple months haha!
I can't actually believe how much I spent on clothes today. I can't believe I used to hate H&M but I'm completely in love with it now (if only they did student discount too). I decided to show a sneak preview of some of my new clothes!

Autumn Sunsets

I honestly can't believe that it's already October! This past year has gone soooo fast, I really think time just needs to slow down haha. I have so many things to do in so little time - assignments due in next week, personal statement needs written for my university application, and just a whole lot more. Ok, I guess I haven't helped myself really considering I've had the assignments for the past 3/4 weeks and I still haven't started them :/ I really should get to work since they're due in next week, but I just have so many distractions - like taking outfit pictures :) haha!
I've seen so many outfit pictures with such amazing glows of the sun and have been dying to get the chance to take some of my own, but the past week was so dreary and rainy, but last night and tonight have been so clear and warm for a change, so obviously I had to drag Shane out to get some pictures.
I actually had it all envisioned in my head where we would go to take the pictures from what I could remember as a child, but when we got there I was so disappointed haha. All the trees had grown over (obviously) and so we had to go and find somewhere else but I really like these pictures. I think this is probably one of my favourite outfits, and with the sun it just makes it even better.
Dress: Modcloth || Cardigan: Miss Selfridge || Tights: Next || Shoes: River Island

I've never actually worn this dress out of the house, but I really like how this outfit turned out with the tights so I might actually wear it to college at some point this week. I've been really wanting some coloured tights for a while, since all of mine are just black (and navy blue from my school days) so I really want to buy some coloured ones, I just have nothing to wear them with.
Oh and I found out the best news ever yesterday! Shane has Tuesday's off college so I'm so happy about that. I can't wait for all the adventures we can take during autumn and winter. I also ordered the Minnetonka moccasins I've been craving for, even if they did cost me £60!! That is by far the most amount of money I've ever spent on one item of clothing/shoes. I was so excited when the UPS van pulled up outside of my house, but of course I had to be blowdrying my hair at the time and didn't hear the guy knock on the door! By the time I ran downstairs the van had drove off and there was a note for me telling me they would try again tomorrow! I guess I'll just have to save my excitement till tomorrow hah!
